Privacy for a civic data platform.

This page explains how Kura254 handles visitor, submission, correction, and enquiry information while keeping election data work transparent and non-partisan.

What we collect

Kura254 may receive contact details, correction notes, candidate submissions, advertising enquiries, and routine analytics or server logs needed to operate the site.

County updates

We use your email and chosen county to send a confirmation through Resend. After you confirm, we store that subscription in Supabase to deliver occasional county updates. Every update includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes that county subscription. Confirmation links expire after 24 hours. Request limits use hashed identifiers; entries older than one day are cleared when subsequent requests are processed.

Research and support

Research requests use your contact details to agree scope, delivery and payment. They do not subscribe you to marketing. When an external donation checkout is available, the payment provider processes your payment; do not submit card details through our enquiry forms.

Product analytics

We measure actions such as data downloads, report previews, enquiries, chart sharing and subscription confirmations. These custom events do not include email addresses, phone numbers or subscription tokens.

How we use it

Information is used to respond to requests, verify submitted material, prevent abuse, improve public-interest election tools, and maintain the platform.

What we do not do

Kura254 does not sell personal data, does not operate as an official voter register, and does not collect IEBC registration checker entries embedded from the official IEBC website.

Candidate submissions

Candidate-provided material may be reviewed, edited for clarity, labelled by verification state, or rejected if it cannot be checked against public-interest standards.

Corrections and sources

Correction requests should include public source material. Submitted evidence may be retained as part of an editorial review trail.
